“Any time the day’s sports stories link a player’s name to that of Al Kaline, it’s worth noting.  August 12 was such a day for Magglio Ordonez, who joined the HOF’er as the only Detroit players ever to hit two home runs in one inning.  Ordonez connected twice in the second inning of an 11-6 win over Oakland.“
