I like how they misspelled Ernie Riles’ name as “Earnie” on both front and back of the card.

Two Hall of Famers appeared in this pack.  Reggie Jackson Turn Back the Clock to 1977:

…but the ultimate fulfillment of 1977 was performed by Reggie Jackson who batted .450 (9-for-20) with 1 Double, 5 Home Runs and 8 RBI’s in leading Yankees to victory in World Series vs. Dodgers.  In winning the Babe Ruth Award as Classic’s Most Valuable Player, he walloped three Roundtrippers in sixth and final game, each dramatically consumated on the very furst pitch he saw at the plate.

and Sparky Anderson:

Sparky Anderson was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a manager, managing the Reds and Tigers for a total of 26 seasons and a combined record of 2194-1834.  He won 5 pennants and 3 World Series titles as a manager.

2009 Topps #515b Reggie Jackson (Short Print)

2009 Topps #515b Reggie Jackson (Short Print)

I just busted open my first pack of the much-praised 2009 Topps Series 2, and I got a short print!

  1. #375 Carlos Quentin
  2. #400 Alfonso Soriano
  3. #402 Nick Blackburn
  4. #515b Reggie Jackson (Short Print)
  5. Topps Town Gold #TTT50 Chase Utley
  6. #486 J.J. Putz
  7. #556 Brendan Ryan
  8. #413 Ruben Gotay
  9. #577 Jose Contreras

Woo hoo!  My first short print ever!  Unfortunately it also looks like I also got short-changed by a card.  Oh well.

Reggie Jackson is nicknamed “Mr. October” because he is best known for his clutch postseason performances.  I think he’s currently working for the Yankees as an advisor.
