1985 Topps wax box
After months of lurking on eBay, I finally procured a box of 1985 Topps at a good price. I got it for about $67 after shipping. 1985 Topps demands a higher price than other years because of the Roger Clemens, Mark McGwire, and Kirby Puckett rookie cards.
With this box, I am venturing into unknown territory. I have never opened any pack older than 1986 in my life. This will be interesting…
As usual, there are 36 packs in the box. Each pack contains 15 cards and a stick of bubble gum. Retail price for each pack listed on the box is 35¢.
1985 Topps pack
The box itself features Keith Hernandez on the top. Ryne Sandberg, Dwight Gooden, and Dave Winfield grace the sides.
The promotion for 1985 is a chance to win an All-Star Game trip by playing the “Topps Winning Pitch Baseball Game” using the game card inside.
